Where to put your drink when sitting on the floor

Keep the drink beside you, comfortably reachable and outside feet, moving legs and walking routes.

Lifestyle illustration. Choose a level spot with the whole base supported.

Choose your seat first

Sit in the position you actually use to read, talk or relax. Identify the space your legs occupy and how you will get up. Then choose a drink spot beside your hip or hand, not between your feet or in front of a shared activity.

Reach without stretching across the room

You should be able to lift the drink without leaning across another person, a book or the activity. If the nearest usable spot is too far away, move a small table closer rather than accepting an awkward reach.

Keep the whole base supported

Allow at least 5.2 inches of clear width and depth for Steadi’s footprint, plus room for your hand. Check that the full base rests evenly on a firm, level surface. Size alone cannot tell you whether a rug supports a drink.

Think about the next movement

Keep drinks outside walking routes and where a person will place a hand to stand up. Move the drink before moving blankets, cushions or the rug itself. A good spot for reading may stop being a good spot when more people join you.

Use a raised surface when needed

A low stable side table can keep the drink near a floor-seated person while avoiding soft pile. Check its top and legs for stability and keep the drink well inside the edge. Steadi is one part of the setup, not a substitute for a stable surface.
