After a carpet spill: separate rug care from holder care
Move the drink, follow the rug’s care instructions and hand wash Steadi separately. A holder is not stain protection.

Attend to the rug promptly
The Carpet and Rug Institute recommends prompt attention to spills. Blot liquid with a dry white absorbent cloth or plain white paper towel; avoid scrubbing or brushing. Follow the rug manufacturer’s instructions and pretest any recommended cleaning product in an inconspicuous area. See the CRI guide linked below for fuller guidance.
Clean Steadi separately
Remove the container and hand wash the holder. Do not put Steadi in a dishwasher or microwave. Avoid transferring a rug-cleaning product onto the holder and do not assume the holder has been tested with that cleaner.
Revisit the original drink spot
Before putting the drink back, ask what changed: uneven support, a foot path, an awkward reach or a moving blanket. A wider base does not resolve every cause. Use a stable raised surface if you cannot establish a suitable floor-level spot.
Keep expectations clear
Steadi does not catch spilled liquid, absorb condensation, seal a drink or promise to prevent carpet stains. Customer photos illustrate individual experiences across Steadi uses; they are not carpet-specific stain or spill tests.
